As a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor I use Person Centred, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and Psychodynamic Counselling theories and practice when working with you.


I am an integrative counsellor which means I can draw on any or all these counselling modalities depending on your needs at that time.

Counselling can help you take the first steps on your path of acceptance, healing and self-discovery, working in a warm supportive and confidential environment.


I understand it’s not an easy process to begin with as talking about thoughts and feelings can feel uncomfortable or overwhelming. However, counselling can really help you to gain a better understanding of yourself and the things that are troubling you. In no time at all you will feel more comfortable and better able to explore your thoughts and feelings and feel emboldened to make changes should that be what’s right for you.

Benefits of Counselling:
The benefit of counselling is that you will improve your relationship with yourself by having a greater sense of awareness and empathy.


Counselling can help with expression and management of unhelpful emotions.  Whilst feelings of frustration and anger are a sign that something is not right in your life, it is in leaning in and allowing yourself to ask ‘what is this emotion telling me? that we begin to make sense of these emotions. Once we make sense and take appropriate action, then the feelings lose their power and our lives become easier to manage.


You have someone to bear witness to your long-held thoughts and feelings.
I will teach you tools and techniques, where appropriate which you can use as your strategy to navigate day to day life.


I will share with you any counselling theories that I believe apply to your situation. You may choose to carry out further reading for your own self-knowledge.

  
With support you will be able to cultivate more well-being in your life by strengthening your resilience. This will allow you to respond more ably to future upsets, disappointments and difficulties that are inevitable in life.

How we work together?

I offer a free and confidential initial consultation.


If you are happy to proceed, we can schedule in further sessions, either in person or online. I will email my contract for you to read and sign.


In our first session together, I will ask for some information about you, including contact details, a brief history around what you are bringing to coaching or counselling. This may be one or many things. 


I will then plan our following sessions so I can offer you the best possible support. 

 

I work with adults over the age of 18. I do not offer couples coaching or counselling currently.
